The Lutheran World Federation of Nepal (LWF-Nepal) and the International Institute of Rural Reconstruction (IIRR) would like to invite you to be part of a select group of nonprofits to attend our international course on NGO Leadership in the Context of Climate Change and Resilience-Building.
This five-day learning event will be held in Kathmandu, Nepal on November 20-24, 2017. You have been chosen as one of the priority attendees for this event to develop stronger peer relationships with allied organizations, strengthen our shared work, and explore best practices and top challenges in NGO leadership.
The Lutheran World Federation (LWF) Nepal is an international, non-governmental humanitarian and development organization that has been working in Nepal since 1984 focusing on disaster risk reduction, emergency preparedness and response, sustainable livelihoods and community-led action for governance and justice.
On the other hand, the International Institute of Rural Reconstruction (IIRR) was established in 1960 to bring about integrated community-based development and to generate models on participatory approaches to development for reducing poverty. IIRR believes that the driving force for innovation and change must come from the community members themselves, not from outsiders, such as development workers. That is why the Institute takes pride in its work in learning communities, where it promotes a participatory, people-centered and sustainable process of development that enables all people to attain their full potential and to live lives of quality and dignity.
This seminar-workshop is designed to bring together not only leaders from Asia’s community-based organizations, but also that from foundations and international NGOs as well. We expect nonprofits to learn together and emerge with a stronger understanding of how NGOs in Asia can increase their effectiveness.
Sessions will include:
· The evolving roles and characteristics of NGO leadership in Asia
· Building resilience in agriculture through climate-smart agriculture (CSA) and community-based adaptation (CBA)
· Nurturing a culture of innovation as a response to a changing global context
· Engaging markets and creating shared value through value-chain development
This is a unique opportunity to spend five days with other leaders who share similar responsibilities and understand your challenges. We hope you take this opportunity to strengthen your organization’s skill set, share your knowledge, and develop valued professional relationships.
